What is Process Art?

To meet the brief I will need to show the stages of my research and the development of my garment through Process Art. But what is it...

'Term applied to art in which the process of its making is not hidden but remains a prominent aspect of the completed work so that a part or even the whole of its subject is the making of the work.'

Looking at this website I saw an artist which showed Process Art in one picture which I thought would be an easy way to start as it is easy to see the Process Art.

Michael Craig-Martin, 4 Complete Clipboard Sets: 1. Clipboard 2. Sheet of Paper 3. Pencil 4. Written Title 5. Eraser, Extended to 5 Incomplete Sets with Photograph Replacements  1971

In every picture there is an item missing, which makes every picture represent and mean something else.

So through every stage of Process Art a message is being portrayed, instead of the final piece just showing the meaning where there could be misinterpretations, there is communication through every stage of the development of the final piece, this helps the viewer fully understand the idea of the piece.
