Pattern cutting is normally associated with flat pattern pieces which are then sewn together, subtraction cutting isn't, it is more innovative and can create a different look every time it is done, shown in the last picture.
I found this process simple to follow and it creates really interesting shapes and I would like to look more in to it and experiment with it further. I feel at the moment this will be a strong influence in my designs. It reminds me of some of my favourite designers' work, including Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto.
